Hyper-sexual
/ˈhaɪpə ˈsɛkʃuəl/
- [adj.] Often used to describe media that shows graphic sexuality or sex acts with no censorship and in the extreme. This use of the term can describe all forms of media, but is centered on overt displays of sexualism often depicting acts considered out of the historical norm– scantily clad/nude women who are either empowered or subjected to intense domination, gay men, etc.
- [adj.] Possessing obsessive and often intrusive thoughts of sex. This affliction is most often used to describe women who, having been in some way traumatized by misogyny since their adolescence, perform an “over correction” and are seen by others (especially men) to “go out of their way” to perform and display their sexuality. Note: this description is rarely used by the public to describe the behavior of men.
